And, yet they had no clues about the victim. Sub-inspector Amarjeet Singh of Sector 11 police station, and Chandigarh CID wing's Vikram Singh had reached the spot in the afternoon and were seen inquiring from mediapersons and neighbours about the incident and the victim's name and family details. "We have just reached the house of the deceased and collecting details. The body has been found in Panchkula, so Haryana police are looking into the case. Now, we are keeping a tab with Haryana cops regarding other developments," said Vikram.
Anil Kumar, one of the neighbours, told TOI, "We had filed a missing complaint on Thursday night but got no help from the police. If they had acted in time, this sad incident could have been thwarted. Today only, somebody had called at DSP"s office and only after that police reached."
Police, however, refuted the charges. "We had immediately registered a daily dairy report and applied for call details that we had got this morning. As per routine, we had also informed Panchkula and Mohali police regarding this missing complaint," said Ashish Kapoor, DSP (central).
